The 28-year-old out of Albany, Ga. missed eight games last season with a calf injury but returned in a starting role for New England, finishing the year with nine starts. He is expected to be a starter and anchor for the offensive line in 2022.
Brown is in his second stint with the Patriots after being acquired from the Las Vegas Raiders following the 2020 season. New England also acquired Brown from the 49ers in 2018, making him just the fourth player since 1980 to be traded to the same team multiple times, via ESPN.
Brown expressed his excitement over the new deal via social media and got a jovial reply from teammate Mac Jones in the process.
