Chelsea Launch Bid for Brazilian Dubbed Next Cafu Amidst Interest from PSG, Real Madrid

Pedro Henrique Cardoso de Lima, a 17-year-old, is emerging as a standout talent in the Brazilian Serie B (Second Division) with his team, Sport Recife. 

As a result, Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly among the teams eyeing the player who’s drawing a resemblance to Cafu. Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Juventus are the other clubs eyeing the player. 

The Ligue 1 side can count on Achraf Hakimi as their right-back for the foreseeable future. However, if the Moroccan, whose contract runs until 2026, chooses not to renew, the club will have to seek a replacement.

However, if sporting advisor Luis Campos holds Lima in high regard, he might have to begin turning the wheels on this file. According to ESPN Brasil, Chelsea have made an offer of R$40 million (approximately €6 million) for the teenager. 

The Blues want Lima this summer, and they may loan him to Strasbourg to help him adapt to European football. 

“Indeed, there are surveys from major European clubs,” admitted João Marcelo Barros, director of Sport’s management committee. “We’re aware that many clubs are monitoring him, but there’s no concrete proposal yet, nothing formalized as of today. However, we have no doubt that Pedro Lima will be one of the big names in Brazilian football in the coming years.

In Brazil, people are talking about him as the next Cafú, mainly because his playing style resembles that of the former world champion.
